We know from our research that girls are less confident about sport than boys. We also know that their confidence levels can be impacted by sending simple positive messages about sport.
We'd love the world to treat boys and girls the same in sport, but it simply doesn't. Until the wider messages sent to girls (and boys!) around gender and stereotypes change, to normalise physical activity for everyone regardless of gender, schools have a responsibility to reflect on the messages they are sending to girls (and boys!) and make sure they are the right ones.
By signing up to the Girls and Sport Pledge your school is acknowledging that there is an issue around the messages sent to girls in sport generally, and saying that you are doing (or want to do) more for girls in sport.
Just for signing up you'll receive (all completely FREE) a sticker and certificate for your school reception, a logo to use on your website and a School Resource Pack full of ways to reflect on the messages girls (and boys!) are sent about gender and sport, and how you can send the right messages to everyone.
If your school is doing (or wants to be doing) more for girls in sport, sign up to the Girls and Pledge below...
